Ken Baker is a lifelong resident of Oklahoma. His interest in art started at an early age with drawing and sketching which eventually led to pastel and oil painting. Although his paintings include a variety of subjects, including still life, figure, and landscape, his preference is for on-site “plein air” painting of landscape. These paintings have become known for their “freshness” and “honest interpretation” and have been featured in such prestigious publications as Art of the West, Western Art Collectors, Southwest Art, and others. This has also led to his recognition as a very collectible artist. Although not motivated by sales, his paintings have been privately collected for years. “I paint for myself; however, if others find my painting appealing enough to buy, I consider that to be the ultimate compliment.”
